National Lyme Report readers, I'd like your advice. Two weeks ago I was
outside clearing away old grasses and brush to prepare my beds for Spring.
When I came in the house I had a small
"something" on my forehead that I brushed off.
It left a bloody spot, so I knew I'd
been bitten. The insect was so small I was unable to find it.
By the next morning the spot was red, raised, and itchy,
and about the size of a penny. I wouldn't have thought any more of it, but the spot
remained red and itchy for over a week.
Now, two weeks after the incident, I can still see the
spot, though it's smaller and doesn't itch anymore. A few days ago it was raised,
almost as if it was a new bite in the same spot, but now that's gone.
I'm beginning to wonder if I've been bitten by a
tick. I remember the thing I brushed off was so small I thought it was some dirt
from outside.
I've read they are that small. But I've also read they're
hard to remove, and whatever was on me seemed to brush right off.
Here's the thing - I now have flu and/or sinus infection
symptoms, which I may have picked up from my granddaughter, but the timing makes me
wonder.
Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you.
